Featuring superstar Nicolas Cage, this movie from the year 2000, a remake from the original version released in 1974, sees the hero, a master thief, forced to steal 50 unique cars in 96 minutes for the account of a mobster. With no less than 7 movies…and counting, the Fast & Furious franchise is probably the longest running and most popular car action movie of all times. Always playing on the edge of the law, the main characters traveled the world, from Tokyo to Abu Dhabi, to demonstrate their skills on illegal street races, but for right causes, riding supped up engines cars. The Fast & Furious franchise features popular actor Vin Diesel, who it seems had a predestined name for the role !

Need for speed

This movie produced by DreamWorks Pictures and released in 2014 is originated from a very popular video game franchise of the same name. It is rare enough to mention, since adaptation is usually done the other way around. During the plot, some of the most exclusive and most expensive cars in the world will race and even crash on open roads. Amongst legendary cars featured, we can list the Koenigsegg Agera R, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento or the Bugatti Veyron.

Rush

Rush is probably one of the best Formula 1 movie ever made. Based on true facts, the story revolves around the fierce rivalry between F1 drivers James Hund and Niki Lauda in the 1976 racing season. Amazingly directed by Ron Howard and released in 2013, the story will keep viewers on their toes and biting their lips until the very last moments of the film. At least those too young to know about this epic episode in motorsports history.

Mad Max

In a totally different style, Mad Max is another all times greatest franchise of the cinema industry, featuring heavy cars and engines. With the huge success of the first version released in 1979, 3 sequels followed including the latest one, “Mad Max: Fury Road”, in 2015. This fiction sees road gangs fight in ravaged lands following the apocalypse, over the control of precious resources, and behind the wheels of custom made monster cars and trucks.
