• There are two telecom providers in the UAE – Etisalat and Du. It is mandatory to register your sim cards with your Emirates ID. It can be easily done in any of the Etisalat or Du outlets using your Passport or Emirates ID.

However, one must be careful as there is zero tolerance on bounced cheques and is considered to be a criminal act which could end you in prison.   • All places must have license to serve alcohol. If you are a resident living in Dubai, you are required to have liquor license to consume alcohol at home.
  • There is zero tolerance on drinking and driving in the UAE.
  • Public locations such as malls and restaurant require residents to dress decently as it is important to respect UAE’s culture.
  • If you’re planning to work in UAE, it’s a must to present necessary documents and get them approved by the government before you can begin your work. Attempting to work without any legal permit is considered as a crime.
  • Smoking in public places such as malls, parks is not permitted. However, there are designated smoking areas all over the city.
  • UAE motorist are required to follow rules laid down by road and transport authority. It’s illegal to break the speed limit, race, using mobile phone while driving are some of the offences. Lawbreakers can be fined, imprisoned or get their car impounded.
  • When you are new to UAE, you might come across lot of attractions and would like to click a picture. Just make sure it’s not offending any person and capturing their image without permission.
