Are you renewing your car registration? Before completing the registration process, motorist need to pay off all their fines. Depending on the Emirate you live in, the process to pay for traffic fines in the UAE vary. For all those motorists wondering where to make payments, below is a guide to help you out.

How to pay your fines in Abu Dhabi

Online:

A convenient way to pay for fines if you’re in Abu Dhabi is using the Abu Dhabi Police’s website. When visiting the site, you will be asked to enter traffic ID or plate number of your registered vehicle or driver’s license number. Select the fine you wish to pay and enter your credit card details and complete your transaction.

Traffic department:

You can also use the traditional way of paying your fines by visiting the traffic department located in Baniyas East. This is particularly useful if you wish to pay by cash. The department is open from 7.30 am to 2.30 pm.

Other methods you can use are automated teller machines. Pay over the phone, call the traffic hotline on 8003333 and follow the instructions.

How to pay your fines in Dubai

Online payment:

Making payment online is a simple and easy process. All you have to do is visit the RTA website and follow the instructions. You can search for your fine by entering your plate number, license number, fine number and traffic file number. You are then required to confirm the fines to be paid and provide your card details.

Dubai Police Smart Application

Launched earlier in 2017, Dubai Police allows drivers to pay their traffic fines through its smart application using their car plate number, driving license number or file number. You can download the app on iOs or Android through the respective application markets.

E-kiosks:

Residents can now pay at 1,000 Max Box kiosks machines using cash or card. It is an initiative by Dubai police’s Smart Services Department in collaboration with Max Box Middle East (MBME) to make payment of fines easier. Apart from 1,000 kiosks, 21 more are also placed in different police stations across Dubai.

Motorists can also visit general department of traffic such as the one  located in Al Qudoes Street, AL Tawar 1 to settle their fines.

How to pay your fines in Sharjah

To make it a convenient for motorist to make payments online you can visit the Sharjah Police website. To make an inquiry on your traffic fines, you will be asked for a T.C. number, plate number or license information.

If you wish to pay by cash or card, visit the traffic department directly located in Sheikh Khalid bin Khalid Al Qassimi Street, Al Ramtha, and settle your fines. You can also make an inquiry by calling 800 333.

How to pay your fines in Ajman

Motorists who have their car registered in Ajman can also use the online Abu Dhabi Police’s portal to pay off their fines. If you wish to use cash as a mode of payment, you can visit the Ajman traffic & License Department which is located in Al Jarf, Ajman.

Note:

  • The majority of the traffic fines payment can be made online however, there are few offences which may require your presence in the traffic department.
  • RTA has made it mandatory for motorists to settle their fines before renewing their car registration.
