Have you made a resolution to work out more this year? The new year can be a great time to set a new resolution, but very often sticking to one can prove to be a bit difficult. But if you find the gym membership that’s just right for you, that’s half the battle won!

With so many fitness centres and group classes on offer in Dubai, the thought of looking into all of the costs, facilities, benefits and perks included in various membership packages can be daunting. Fortunately, we have simplified this process by doing all of the tedious research for you and comparing the available options.

For the committed

If you are one of those people who fully commit themselves to working out after signing up for a long-term membership plan, then you’ll be glad to know that there are plenty of membership packages at affordable prices. Fitness First, one of the largest and most popular chain of fitness centres in Dubai, offers you access to more than 30 branches throughout the UAE and three different membership categories, namely Plus, Platinum and Platinum Plus.

The membership package you select will determine which branches you get access to and costs range from AED 2,000 plus admin fee for a basic Plus three-month membership to AED 3,000 (six months), and AED 4,000 (12 months). The longer your membership period extends for the better deal you end up getting. In addition to more than 100 group exercise classes, members can enjoy special discounts and privileges with partner merchants that include: food and beverage, health and beauty, fashion and a lot more.

Here’s a little bit of useful advice before you commit yourself to a gym membership. After you’ve decided on venue and membership package that’s right for you, keep in mind that you have some room to negotiate with the sales manager before you sign on the dotted line. Many gyms in Dubai offer free trials, personal training sessions, fitness gear and guest passes, while some even waive the registration free as an incentive for signing up.
