The Dubai Tram opened on 11/11, 11th November 2014. Here’s what you need to know.

- How much will the tram cost? A ticket will cost AED 3 regardless of the distance traveled on the tram.
- How often does the Dubai tram run? Previously it was announced that there would be one tram every six minutes from 5.30am to midnight. However, the RTA is currently revising the timings and is considering increasing it up to 20 hours a day.
- How many Dubai tram stations are there? Eight trams will service 11 stations
- Where does the Dubai tram stop? The tram will only stop at designated stations

- How many people can Dubai tram carry? The trams will have a maximum capacity of 405 people each
- How many people will use Dubai tram? The RTA estimates 200,000 people will use the trams each year
- What classes are there on Dubai tram? As with the Dubai Metro, there will be three classes – Gold, Silver and Women & Children
- It the Dubai tram environmentally friendly? The tram runs on electricity so yes, it is
- What speed does the Dubai tram travel at? It has a maximum speed of 50 km/hr
- Does the Dubai tram have cables? It’s the first outside Europe to be operated with ground-level electric wiring, not overhead cables

- Always give way to trams on foot, in a car or on a bike
- Roads must be crossed using dedicated pedestrian crossings
- Don’t use headphones and mobile phones near tram tracks
- Obstructing tramways is a serious, punishable offence
- Don’t litter on the tram or the tramway line
