Al Hilal Bank has become the first bank to start integrating the Emirates ID card into its banking processes.
Customers will be able to use their EIDA (Emirates Identity Authority) cards for cash withdrawals and transfers at all Al Hilal ATM machines in the UAE.
It is the first time the Emirates ID will be used for ATM transactions.
Al Hilal Bank has been authorized to access information from the Authority’s Identity Cards such as name, passport number and nationality.
Mohamed Jamil Berro, Group CEO, Al Hilal Bank, said: “We are proud of how our latest technology-enabled service complements the UAE’s broader vision of transforming itself into a digital society.”
Al Hilal also brought in the UAE’s first thumb verification system for banking transactions and the world’s first ‘Qibla locator’ credit card.
